The best ways to celebrate Father’s Day in Liverpool

Tuesday 13th June 2017 by BASE Serviced Apartments

It’s time to treat the old man because Father’s Day is fast approaching!

Sons and Daughters are getting ready to celebrate their Dad’s on a day that’s all about them, but how best to honour thy father?

Is Dad a pipe and slipper’s man or is he a pint at the pub kind of gentleman? Choices to make and not a lot of time to make them.

Fear not, because BASE are here to help and we’ve come up with a handy guide that’s filled with great ideas for Father’s Day.

So without further adieu, here are:

The best ways to celebrate Father’s Day in Liverpool

Enjoy a Steak Meal

Whether Pop’s like’s his steak medium rare or well done (hint, it’s always medium rare!), Liverpool has some great steak places to choose from.

Marco Pierre White’s and Miller & Carter are keen favourites among carnivores in the city. While CAU Steakhouse offers a taste of Argentina with their selection of fine cut meats.

Wherever you choose, it’s pretty much guaranteed that he’ll be back for seconds!

Take him to a Real Ale Pub

Nothing beats a nice cold pint and Liverpool has plenty of pubs to grab one!

The Ship & Mitre on Dale Street and The Dispensary on Renshaw Street are CAMRA award winning pubs, proof of high stature among real ale drinkers.

Take him for a Manly Cocktail

If Beer isn’t his drink of choice, treat him to a manly cocktail!

Not every Dad is a beer drinker, so thankfully Liverpool City Centre has a thriving range of cocktail bars.

Whether it’s an Old Fashioned at Django’s Riff or a Manhattan at Liverpool’s best-kept secret, Berry and Rye, there is no shortage of great options to choose from.

Feast on a Man Sized Burger

You could also give in to temptation and chow down on a ridiculously delicious burger.

Liverpool is filled with great places to enjoy hamburgers, so why not use Father’s Day as an excuse to check one out.

Go big or go home!

Treat him to Something Sweet

If Dad’s got a sweet tooth, skip the main course and head straight for dessert!

Kaspas are specialists of sweet treats dealing in everything from waffles to ice cream Sunday’s.

Just be sure to leave the belt at home!

Try Afternoon Punk Tea

The Baltic Social have a fun, quirky take on the Afternoon Tea experience with their Afternoon Punk Tea.

Situated in the Baltic Triangle region of Liverpool City Centre, enjoy a host of glutinous treats such as mini cheeseburgers or pigs and blankets, accompanied with a boozy teapot.

Check it out here.

Enjoy a round of Ghetto Golf

If you’re looking for something a little different this Father’s Day, these next two might do the trick.

First up is Ghetto Golf, an adult’s only golf and cocktail wonderland set inside a converted brewery. In addition, there’s also delicious street food and a live DJ for visitors to enjoy.

Challenge yourselves with Breakout Liverpool

Next up is Breakout Liverpool.

Take him to Matthew Street

However, if you’re looking for something more touristy, these final three suggestions will be right up your street.

It’s impossible to visit Liverpool without paying a trip to the world famous Matthew Street. Along with being home to The Cavern Club, it’s filled with other great attractions like Cavern Walks.

After you’ve taken in the sights, stop off for a pint at favourites The Grapes or Rubber Soul.

Take him on a ‘Ferry Cross The Mersey

Another must when visiting Liverpool is taking a trip aboard the Ferry Cross the Mersey!

Take in the breathtaking skyline of Liverpool’s world famous Waterfront aboard this favourite and historic attraction.

Experience a tour of Anfield Stadium

Last but not least, is the home of Liverpool FC; Anfield Stadium.

While Football Season may be over for the year, you can always take a trip to the stadium and if lucky, maybe even tour the ground itself!
