We’ve put together our favourite family things to do in Cheshire here, along with ‘Base Top Tips’ on how to plan the perfect day.
Gulliver’s World
For the thrill seekers! Spend an exciting day out at Gulliver’s World theme park. With over 80 rides designed for families and young children, you’re guaranteed an action packed and fun filled day out no matter what the weather.

Go Ape at Delamere Forest
Looking for family things to do in Cheshire where your bundles of energy can let off some steam? Delamere Forest is the perfect place to escape the crowds and go for a bike ride or watch the wildlife.
For the more adventurous, why not try Go Ape? This thrilling high ropes adventure park is set 12 metres up in the canopy and gives thrill seekers of all ages the chance to navigate through obstacles, tunnels and even zoom down zip wires.

Arley Hall Gardens
If you’re looking for some family outdoor fun in beautiful Cheshire surroundings, head to Arley Hall. Step inside the Adventure Play Zone, with zip wires, sandpits, swings and slides. For the creative minds, let the kids loose in the willow dome and let them create a den in the woods. After all that playtime, there’s picnic areas to feed those hungry tummies. Anderton Boat Lift
The Anderton Boat Lift is just that – A magnificent creation built to lift boats up the canal from one river to another. The attraction was voted Visitor attraction of the year 2018 and has earnt its nickname the Cathedral of the Canals for a good reason.

Blue Planet Aquarium
An unmissable day out in Cheshire for the family is Blue Planet Aquarium! Dunham Massey
For a fun family day out all year round, visit Dunham Massey’s beautiful deer park. The almost 200 acres of land features walk ways, woodlands and parks great for exploring with little ones. Get up close and personal with deer or stop for afternoon tea in the on-site café. Dunham Massey is certainly one to tick off the list for family things to do in Cheshire.
