Summer is over and the kids are back to school (YAY if you’re a mum or dad)! There’s still plenty to do in Liverpool this September before the cold weather hits. We’re put together a list of some fun things you can do this month.
Southport Air Show 6 – 8th September
If you’re looking for a fun family day out to end the summer holidays with then look no further! The Southport Air Show is the number one family day out in the North West. It is set to be a jam packed weekend full of daring and breath-taking aerobatics in the sky. Expect to see RAF 100 tribute to Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Bristol Blenheim and Spitfires flying over the weekend.
There’s plenty happening on the ground too. Take a walk around the Air Show Village where you can have a go on the climbing frames and experience what it’s like to fly a jet in a simulator! In the Military Village you can watch a Royal Marine doing demonstrations in a diving tank, eye up the military equipment and have a go on the climbing wall.
The fun doesn’t stop there! On the beach there is a paintball range, bungee trampolines, land zorbs and much more.
Southport is not far from Liverpool City Centre and has excellent transport links! We have plenty of apartments to choose from and if you book direct we can give you your choice on room types and amenities, such as view and balconies.
Gin to my Tonic Show 6 – 8th September
Do you love gin? If yes, then this is the perfect event for you this month. The show offers a different experience to the traditional festival as it takes you on board an exciting journey of gin discovery.
You should expect well-stocked gin and cocktail bars, tastings, presentations from distilleries, and theatrical bartender performances. You can enjoy samples from each of the brands, but be careful as there is so much to discover as you work your way around the festival. If you want to learn about distillation methods, then you can attend a gin masterclass or master the perfect serve with tonic and garnish tutorials. It’s a gin lover’s dream!
Not too keen on gin? Not to worry! Makers will also be showcasing their creations including vodka and rum. Prices start from £15 and tickets can be bough from here. Taking place in the Exhibition Centre, it’s only a stone throw away from our apartments on The Docks.
