The summer holidays are well underway and Liverpool has a jam packed August of fun for everyone! Looking for something to do with the kids or just to enjoy yourself? Look no further and keep reading to find out how to make the most of your summer days.

Summer on the Docks 4th – 31st August

This August the Royal Albert Dock brings you Summer on the Docks, with 4 weeks of exciting events and activities! Located on a unique floating pontoon surrounded by Dockside restaurants, bars and attractions, this is an event not to be missed. Our Royal Quay apartments are only a stone throw away from all the events happening.

Floating Pop-Up Cinema 4th – 10th August

Summer on the Docks kicks off with a floating pop-up cinema, which will be screening your favourite family themed films. Don’t worry about getting hungry as each Dock restaurant will be taking in turn to provide front row treats. From mojitos and burritos by Revolucion de Cuba to fish and chips from Panam.

Get Creative 11th – 14th August

A week of fun filled craft, music and storytelling sessions for the whole family to enjoy. These will be free hourly drop in sessions – no booking required! The week will begin with Maritime Tales by Tugboat Cath and end with Beyond Books Crafts and Music Workshops. This will include musical instrument workshops, mosaic collaging and much more!

Sports & Wellbeing 16 – 22nd August

This week will include free coaching sessions of netball, cricket and table tennis. If you want to take part in a more relaxing activity, there will be yoga and meditation sessions.

Community Football 23rd – 31st August

Boys and girls will have the opportunity to take part in football training sessions on a floating pitch. These sessions will be held with professional football coaches from the LFC Foundation and popular football freestylers.

CBBC Summer Social 3rd – 4th August

CBBC Summer Social is returning to Croxteth Country Park, which is only a 20 minute drive from our Liverpool apartments. On Saturday CBBC brings you exciting acts such as Pixie Lott, Busted and John Newman. On Sunday Cbeebies hosts Mr Tumble and friends, Baby Club Live and Andy & the Odd Socks, plus many more.

There will be an array of street food vendors available, which will include vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. You’re also able to take your own food and soft drink as long as it follows the festival guidelines, which can be found on their website. There will be funfair activities including the World’s Biggest Bouncy Castle and the World’s Biggest Inflatable Continuous Obstacle Course.

Sunnycon Anime Expo 10th – 11th August

The UK’s largest anime expo comes to the Exhibition Centre this August, featuring a whole host of events and activities. Special guests include David Matranga and Stephanie Young.

There will be 3 cosplay competitions over the weekend – Masters, Rising Star and non-competitive divisions. Masters will be the biggest contest with a huge prize of £2,000. There will be hundreds of tables with merchandise and Beanie Gaming will be running a variety of card game tournaments.

Our Duke Street location is the perfect place to stay as it’s only a 15 minute walk to the Exhibition Centre.

International Beatle Week 21st – 27th August

Cavern City Tours brings you International Beatleweek Festival, celebrating the music of the most famous pop group in the world. Live music is the focus of the festival, with the Cavern hosting a different band every hour on all 3 of their stages.

It truly is an international festival with 70 bands from over 20 countries and fans from over 40. Festival go-ers are encouraged to go out into the city to various venues so they can get a real feel of Liverpool.

Creamfields 22nd – 25th August & Fusion Festival 31st – 1st September

Two of Liverpool’s biggest festivals return this August. Creamfields is the UK’s biggest electronic dance music festival and has a diverse selection of genres from house to drum & bass. On the Sunday Swedish House Mafia return to headline with a UK exclusive set.

Fusion Festival is back this year but in the new location of Sefton Park. Headlining Saturady will be Rudimental, Dizzie Rascal and John Newman. On Sunday festival go-ers can dance to Little Mix, Anne-Marie and Clean Bandit.
