Kicking off a jam-packed month of great events in Liverpool is Fusion Festival.

Following a successful debut in 2016, the two-day pop festival returns to Otterspool Promenade headlined by pop sensations Little Mix and Take That.

Heritage on the Dock

7th – 10th September

Heritage on the Dock - September 2017 - Liverpool

Heritage on the Dock celebrates the rich history of the Albert Dock and the Liverpool waterfront with four days of free boat trips, walks, talks, workshops and live music.

Cilla – The Musical

7th – 16th September

Cilla The Musical - Liverpool Empire Theatre

The Cilla Black musical will be making its long awaited debut in September 2017.

Cilla – The Musical, tells the extraordinary story of the teenage girl from Liverpool whose dreams of stardom lead her to become one of Britain’s most-loved entertainers.

All Or Nothing – The Mod Musical

8th – 10th September

All or Nothing – The “Mod” Musical is a trans-generational musical experience celebrating the unique sound of iconic Mod band, The Small Faces.

Mod’s was a subculture that began in London in 1958 which combined music and fashion. Iconic staples of the culture included tailor made suits, Italian Vespas or Lambretta and of course, the music.

The Curve Fashion Festival

9th September

The UK’s largest plus size fashion event for women returns to Liverpool in September 2017.

The Curve Fashion Festival, in partnership with New Look Fashion, brings a full day of shopping, catwalks, celebrity talks and more to Exhibition Centre Liverpool.

Following a successful 2016, the 2017 edition looks to be the biggest event to date!

Stewart Lee

14th – 15th September

British comedian Stewart Lee will bring his Content Provider tour to Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in September 2017.

Lee is back in Liverpool following a successful tour of his Comedy Vehicle last November.

Southport Air Show

15th – 7th September

The first of two great Southport based events in September 2017 is the annual Air Show.

A fun-filled event for all the family, witness the high-octane air displays of the Red Arrows, explore the Air Show Village or simply bring along a picnic and watch it all unfold from the beach.

The Liverpool Comedy Festival

15th September – 1st October

The Liverpool Comedy Festival will be back for another year this September.

Top comedians from around the UK will descend on Liverpool for 2 weeks to have the funniest city in the UK in splits!

Featuring acclaimed UK comedians such as Rob Brydon and Greg Davies, along with a crop of local Scouse talent, this can’t be missed.

World Boxing Super Series

16th September

 

The World Boxing Super Series is an upcoming professional boxing bracket-style elimination tournament.

It begins with four quarter finals taking place in different locations across the globe, as Callum Smith and Erik Skolgard face off at Liverpool Echo Arena in September 2017.

Liverpool Food and Drink Festival 2017

16th – 17th September

Liverpool Food and Drink Festival will be back once again this September.

One of Liverpool’s most beloved events, the festival will bring the very best in food and drink to Sefton Park for a very special 10th-anniversary edition.

In addition to all the culinary delights, there will also be a family zone, a healthy living area and live cooking demonstrations from a host of celebrity chefs!

Pirate Festival on the Dock

16th – 17th September

Liverpool’s established Pirates on The Dock Festival traditionally attracts over 50,000 people.

Celebrating the history and spirit of adventure of the original Liverpool Privateers, attendees can expect a colorful programme of family themed events.

Taking place at the Albert Dock, the festival features live pirate ship battles, parades, music, dance and children’s entertainment.

John Legend

17th September

Acclaimed pop singer John Legend is bringing his Darkness and Light tour to Liverpool.

Perhaps best-known for his 2013 hit single “All of Me”, the multi-award winning R&B artist’s latest tour will include a stop at Liverpool Echo Arena in September 2017.

Wirral Golf Classic

18th – 22nd September

The 8th Wirral Golf Classic is a 72 hole Stableford competition for men and women amateur golfers.

The Gold Classic is spread about between four beautiful Merseyside golf courses including The Royal Liverpool Golf Club at Hoylake.

Located between Liverpool and Chester, Wirral is a golfer’s paradise just waiting to be discovered!

Dirty Dancing

18th – 23rd September

Dirty Dancing is back!

The classic story of Baby and Johnny has been adapted for the stage, featuring 35 hit songs including “Hungry Eyes” and “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life”. Don’t miss your chance to see this sensational new production when it hits Liverpool Empire Theatre in September 2017.

19th – 20th September

After a successful performance in July, Micky Flanagan is back again in Liverpool.

The well-known comedian will bring his ‘An’ Another Fing tour back to the Liverpool Echo Arena for two additional dates during September 2017.

Liverpool Oktoberfest

21st – 24th September

Who needs to go all the way to Munich for Oktoberfest when Liverpool is putting on two it’s own in the same month!

First, we have the popular Liverpool Oktoberfest at the Pier Head, promising reduced prices on beer to commemorate the third edition of the festival.

What’s more is the beer will be coming directly from Bavaria itself, from a 200-year-old brewery to be exact!

Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia

22nd – 23rd September

The Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia is among the returning events during September 2017.

Dubbed “The UK’s largest celebration of psychedelic sub-culture”, the festival offers everything from visual art and film to live music performances from some of the top bands in the scene.

Tubular Bells

23rd September

Fans of Mike Oldfield’s classic album Tubular Bells will be in for a treat this September.

Head to Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and witness a classical reinterpretation from Tubular Brass – a 28 piece brass band featuring some of the UK’s finest players.

2017 Trampoline, Tumbling & DMT British Championships

23rd – 24th September

The 2017 British Trampoline, Tumbling and DMT British Championships promises to be a spectacle of the highest standard.

Taking place at Liverpool Echo Arena, this is the perfect opportunity to see British world class athletes gymnasts in action; soaring 20ft in the air, performing gravity-defying somersaults and twists.

Independent Liverpool Oktoberfest

28th September – 1st October

Stines, brines and bloody good times!

The second of two Oktoberfest’s in September the returning Independent Liverpool Oktoberfest. The purveyors of good Liverpool food will once again take over the Great Baltic Warehouse for a weekend of wholesome Bavarian fun.

Expect the best of Liverpool and German all under one roof come September 2017!

British Musical Fireworks Championships

29th September – 1st October

The British Musical Fireworks Championship is the only competition of it;s kind.

Taking place in Southport, spectators will enjoy some of the best pyrotechnic companies in the country putting on the best firework displays to be seen in all of the UK!

30th September

Battle on the Mersey is the second of two big boxing events taking place in September 2017.

A stacked bill is on the cards, featuring a headline Bantamweight Eliminator bout with Paul Butler facing off against bitter rival Stuart Hall for the WBA World Championship.
